Annual meeting in Bern 2021

The annual meeting of our association ICES, was sponsored by the "Support Fund for

associations of Chileans abroad", sponsored by the Directorate for the Community

of Chileans Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DICOEX). this encounter

represents our first "hybrid" event, that is, carried out in person at the

Building of the Chilean House in Bern, Switzerland and in virtual format for anyone who

interested no matter where you are, due to the restrictions

health measures imposed by COVID-19. We had the pleasure of hosting 16 participants from

face-to-face and 14 participants virtually.

The presenters from Switzerland were :​

• Giovanni Carrasco , political analyst at the FAO.

• Felipe Nuñe z, PhD in molecular medicine from ETH Zurich.

• Sofía Gallego , PhD in astrophysics, member of the Trawün association.

• Suraj Balakrishna , PhD in infectious diseases from ETH Zurich.

And from Chile: ​

• Daniel Martínez , co-founder of the innovative company Copper 3D (printer of 3D masks)

• Fernando Valiente , president of the Microbiology Society of Chile.

• Roberto Neira , mayor of Temuco, Araucanía region, Chile.

This event was a great opportunity to meet and discuss in detail what is

happening both in Chile and Switzerland in matters of managing the COVID-19 crisis, the

Constituent Convention in Chile and the professional future of our students. The

The meeting was initiated by the words of Ambassador Francisco Gómez , followed by the

presentation of the functions of the Consulate of Chile in Switzerland by our new consul,

Mrs. Natalia Nahmias .
